1. Who retains the rights to survey and the response data?
The contents of the survey and the data are the property of the creator of the survey. iNetSurvey guarantees that the contents or the results are not shared or viewed by anyone other than the survey owner. iNetSurvey will not sell, distribute or share the account holder or survey information to any third party.

2. Since iNetSurvey collects and stores the responses, is my data safe?
Yes we do have backups that are done on a daily basis (at about 2 AM EST). The backup is done for all the surveys and data and you do not have to pay anything for this. However, if you need to restore the data, you will be charged a fee of $99 per file. So, if you accidentaly modified your survey once this is live, all your data is lost. In this case, you will have to restore the survey file and the data file for a fee of $198.

3. Does iNetSurvey offer a pool of respondents or mailing lists to distribute my survey?
iNetSurvey is a software provider and provides the service to allow users to create, conduct and analyze surveys. We do not have a mailing list or a focus group that we can distribute the surveys to.

4. What customization options are available in iNetSurvey?
iNetSurvey allows users to customize the background images, colors, fonts. Users can choose from a variety of background images or colors defined within iNetSurvey or can provide custom colors or background images. Users can also choose to include their company logos.

5. How can I make the survey look integrated with my web-site?
iNetSurvey offers a variety of customization options for background images and colors to allow users to design survey. Each survey provides for a return URL, the address of where the respondent is sent to upon completion of the survey. Users can use this page to return the respondent to their home page or a thank you page. In addition, users can download the survey form and install this on their server(s) giving the responden t the feeling that the survey is an internally designed product.

6. Can I add images and other formatting options to my survey?
iNetSurvey allows users to add their company logo on the survey. HTML tags are supported in the body of the survey and users familiar with HTML can insert images and other formatting options in the header, footer or the survey questions.

7. What is included in the 30 Day FREE Trial service?
The 30 Day Free Trial is a no cost service allowing users to create, conduct and analyze surveys. All features are available for building the survey. Once the survey is built, the user is returned the survey URL, the address of where the user's survey resides. The user can distribute the survey to her participants either via email or can post this on their web-page as links. Basic analysis including Tabulation and View Open-Ended questions is available. The trial service is available for a period of one month or 100 responses whichever comes first.

8. What is included in the Advanced service and how much does this cost?
The advanced service grants the user additional features such as ability to distribute the surveys to a mailing list, additional analysis such as cross-tabulations, selective question display and survey expand. The ability to create and apply filters (new V2.5 Feature) allows the user functionality to slice and dice data during analysis. In addition the user can download the raw data in a tab-separated or a comma-separated format that can be exported to other databases for additional analysis. The advanced feature allows you to conduct the survey for a period of one year and 1000 responses.
The Advanced service can be purchased for $199 per survey and allows for 1000 responses. Additional increment of 1000 responses can be purchased for $199.

9. Is there a time limit that you must complete your survey within?
The 30 Day Trial service is available for a period of one month or 100 responses whichever comes first. The advanced and the managed service is good for one year. In addition users can set start and end dates for their surveys.

10. When can I view the results of my survey?
Results are updated in real-time and available for analysis. Once a respondents completes the survey, the response is available for analysis. Users can analyze and download results any number of times during the duration of their survey.

11. I have some test data that I used to pre-test the survey, how can I reset my survey?
iNetSurvey offers users the ability to reset their surveys anytime they desire. Each reset is considered a new generation of the survey. If the user has purchased the Advanced Service on the survey, the advanced service is no longer valid. Each generation of the survey requires the user to purchase the advanced service. In case you are pre-testing the survey, you may want to wait to purchase the download key.

12. I lost my data when I modified my survey?
iNetSurvey builds a database to hold the survey responses. Since each survey is different, the database layout changes with the survey definition. Once you modify the survey (either properties or body), the layout structure changes causing us to rebuild the layout. This causes the database and all the underlying data to be deleted. iNetSurvey warns the user from continuing to modify a live survey. Each modification is considered as a new generation of the survey and requires a new Download key to be purchased.

13. My survey seems to be completely empty, although if I go to the setup site, there are questions there.
iNetSurvey addresses are case-sensitive and this may be what is causing the problem. Make sure that the survey URL is in the proper case.

14. I lost my survey URL email? How can I find the address of my survey?
All surveys in iNetSurvey follow standard addresses, http://www.inetsurvey.com/Survey.cgi/YourAccount/YourSurvey. You need to substitute YourAccount and YourSurvey in this URL with your account Id and survey Id. The Survey URL is also displayed on the Survey Info page. Remember, ids are case sensitive in iNetSurvey and make sure to use the same case.

15. Once the data is downloaded from a survey, will iNetSurvey still collect data if more people respond? Or, does the data collection stop once the survey has been downloaded?
Data collection is not stopped once you download the data from the survey. Data collection is cumulative and will continue until the survey is active. The survey stops collecting data when the database has reached the specified limit of the expiration date has reached.

16. I just finished building a survey on your web site. Now what do I do to make it accessible to the others so that they can fill it out?
You should have received the survey URL with the location of where your survey resides. It is usually of the form http://www.inetsurvey.com/Survey.cgi/YourAccount/YourSurvey. You can email this URL to your participants or post this on your web-page using the Survey tags. If you op t for the advanced service, we can distribute the survey to a mailing list that you provide.

18. What type of questions can I define within iNetSurvey?
iNetSurvey support both qualitative and quantitative type questions. Quantitative type questions include single choice, multiple choice, likerds and ranks. In addition, users can also define a combination of qualitative and quantitative type questions.

Yes we do, however the user needs to be familiar with HTML to accomplish this.

20. Does iNetSurvey support multi-page surveys?
Yes. The newly released version 2.5 of iNetSurvey does support multi-page surveys. This feature is not available for the 30 Days Free Trial Users.

21. Does iNetSurvey offer validation of fields on survey submission?
Yes. iNetSurvey offers the ability to identify a specific question as Mandatory. In addition, open-ended questions do allow for field level validation. Currently iNetSurvey provides validations for Dates, Numbers and Email addresses.

22. What kind of analysis is offered in iNetSurvey?
iNetSurvey offers tabulation and view open-ended questions in the basic product. Advanced service includes cross-tabulation, selective question display, survey expand. Tabulation displays cumulative scores with raw and adjusted percentage scores. A variety of charting options are also offered.

23. Can I filter my data during analysis?
iNetSurvey offers the ability to create and save fairly complex filters. During analysis, users can mix and match upto two filters using relational operators such as AND, OR and XOR. Filters can be applied to analysis and downloads.

24. Is there a limit on the data that can be collected or a limit on the amount of characters in the text fields?
Each survey response is limited to 8000 bytes of data. Each individual open-ended question is limited to 1000 characters (approximately 200 words). As for the data of the entire survey, we do not have any predefined space limit.

25. I was constructing an online survey and realized that the comment field will not let users type in any comments. Is this intentional?
With open-ended questions, users can set maximum limits on the amount of data that can be entered. If you leave this field blank, the default value is zero(0). Some browsers interpret this a allow unlimited amounts of data while others set this as the limit. Check the question and ensure that the limit is set to a non-zero value.

26. Is it possible to download and print a paper version of my survey for this purpose?
You can print the survey using the print option offered by the browser. As for downloading the survey form, you can download this by clicking the View Source from the browser.

27. Is it possible to build a survey in another language than english?
Yes, iNetSurvey support unicode allowing users to build surveys in almost any language supported by the browser.

28. Is it possible for you to change the submit/reset button at the bottom of the survey to another language?
Yes, one of the properties of the survey is the ability to set the values for the submit/reset button.

29. What is the return URL and why do I need this?
The return URL is the address of the page where you want the respondent to be sent to once they complete the survey. This allows you to integrate the survey with your website or optionally you may want to thank the user for taking the survey. If you do not have a web page, you can use the default return URL provided, http://www.inetsurvey.com.

30. After completing the survey, the browser hangs or I get an error. What am I doing wrong?
Upon completion of the survey, iNetSurvey transfers the control to the return URL specified on your survey. In this case, you have either set the return URL to a bad internet address or have specified an email address here.

31. How can I ensure that I do not get duplicate responses?
With the basic and advanced service, you can use cookies to prevent users from entering multiple responses. This does not however guarantee that the respondent does not submit multiple responses since cookies are tied to browsers and the machine that the respondent used. Managed surveys allow you to limit one single response per survey.

32. Can we delete responses from our survey results? For instance, if the respondents are younger than 21 yrs. then they can not partake in the survey. I want to be able to eliminate those people from my data. Can that be done?
Deleting responses can skew the results of a survey. However, iNetSurvey does provide ability to delete responses with the advanced and higher service plans.

33. What is the Managed Survey?
Managed surveys allow users to predefine their survey participants within iNetSurvey. Users can define participants with profiles. Profiles are user defined fields that the survey creator already knows about the participants and may not want to insert these as questions in the survey. If the Human Resource department of a company wants to conduct a survey of their employees, they already have information such as Gender, Department, Location, Years of service know of the employees. They can predefine these in iNetSurvey and define participant groups. Managed Surveys are by invitation only and each participant is identified by an id. During analysis, the participant profile information is merged with the response.
